Urk!

My new manager, CP, is rather pickayune at the worst times. You really shouldn't microcritique the format of the ReleaseNotes file when:

  1. The checkin is for several crucial bug fixes affecting the ability to control the whole product.
  2. The checkin only has a few lines of code changed, and the Release Notes file is therefore more lines than the code changes.
Now, I don't mind a dedication to quality, but the cheesy release notes system is not the place to emphasise it.

He also seems a bit unsure how to handle people who do systems level work. We are a bit of a different breed than your average programmer. He seems to be educable though, and that's a good thing. He's also more technically savvy than my previous manager. I never would have felt comfortable submitting a code review to PD (who only codes in VB, IIRC).
