My darling manager, P, put one of those electric scent sprayers in the ladies room a couple days ago. I asked that it be removed because I am allergic to perfumes, fragrance, and air "fresheners". Someone removed it. She was unhappy, the thing was "expensive" - about $40.00 (Mind you, a box of baking soda is less than $1.00.) I told her that I was allergic, and what my reaction was.
Today, I went in to the same bathroom. At first I thought someone had been dousing themselves with perfume, but that the fans would clear it. Nope. So I sat, on the john, coughing, worse and worse the longer I was in there. But I could not see anything.
So when I was done with my business, I went and looked around the corner into the shower area. There, on the floor in a corner, was yet another electric scent spewing device. Apparently she thought that if she hid it I wouldn't react to it (IOTW, that I was exaggerating)! Wrong!!!
So I beat a hasty retreat, and now I will be unable to use the closest bathroom to where I sit because of this. If they put these things in all of the bathrooms, I will have to go outside and piss against the wall.
Plus, my throat hurts, my sinuses hurt, all due to less than 10 minutes in an environment saturated with some idiot "air freshener". I did not have these symptoms before I went into that bathroom.
I am not a happy camper, and in fact am seriously pissed off. I am also interested in another job where I can get more consideration for my limitations. I don't make a big deal of them, because I really don't want to be a whiner. But when people f*ck with my ability to breath, I get severely cranky.
